What to look for in an MT5 trade copier for prop firms

Risk % sizing, daily and maximum loss stops, late trade protection, symbol mapping and exposure caps: the features a trade copier needs before you point it at funded accounts.

A trade copier for funded accounts has a harder job than one for a personal account. Every follower has its own balance, its own daily loss limit and its own maximum drawdown, and one bad copy can end a challenge. Here is what matters.

1. Risk % sizing from the master's stop

Each follower should size its own trades as a % of its own balance, worked out from the master's stop loss. Phase 1, phase 2 and funded accounts usually want different risk, so you should be able to set it per account.

2. A daily loss stop and a maximum loss stop per account

The copier should close that account's copies and stop for the day a little before the firm's daily limit, and stop for good before the maximum. Set them inside the real limits, not on them.

3. Late trade protection

If a follower reconnects after a minute, it should skip a trade that has already run, not chase it at a worse price.

4. An open risk cap

If the master trades two pairs at once, every follower takes both. A cap on total open risk stops a follower going over the firm's exposure rules.

5. Symbol mapping

Brokers name things differently (XAUUSD, GOLD, GBPUSD.r). The copier needs to map them.

6. Pending orders, partial closes and stop moves

Limit entries should be placed at the same price on every follower, and stop moves, partial closes and closes should follow the master.

7. A dashboard you will actually check

Online or not, balance and equity, open trades and P&L for every account in one place, so you can see a problem before a firm does.

The Order Block Copier was built for our own funded accounts and does all seven. Lite (£4.99 a month per follower account) runs on your own VPS; Cloud (£9.99) and Premium (£19.99) are hosted for you. The master is free on every plan. It copies your own trades between your own accounts: it is software, not a signal service or financial advice.
