How the sessions fit together
The forex market runs from Sunday night to Friday night, handed from one financial centre to the next. The times above use each city’s normal business hours and convert them to UK time, so they stay right when the UK or US clocks change.
- Sydney and Tokyo (the Asia session): quieter for GBPUSD. Price usually builds a range, which is exactly what the Asia range strategy marks.
- London: the busiest session for the pound. The first hour after 08:00 is when the Asia range is most often swept.
