Stop hunt: meaning in trading
A stop hunt is another name for a liquidity sweep: price running obvious stop losses before turning.
It feels personal when your stop is hit by a few pips and price then flies in your direction. It isn’t personal: your stop was in the same obvious place as everyone else’s.
The fix is not to remove stops. It is to stop placing them at the obvious level, and to trade after the hunt rather than before it.
