Market structure: meaning in trading
Market structure is the pattern of swing highs and lows that shows whether price is trending up, down or ranging.
Higher highs and higher lows: an uptrend. Lower highs and lower lows: a downtrend. Neither: a range.
Reading structure tells you who is in control. A break of structure confirms the trend; a change of character warns it may be turning.
