The day in words

Asia was quiet and tight today. The box ran from 1.32067 to 1.32223, just 15.5 pips, and that high turned out to be the high of the day so far.

Frankfurt flushed the Asia low by 11.7 pips. On its own that's a good tell, the kind we saw on 6 October. The difference is what came next. Price was still below the box at the London open, so there was no reclaim. At 08:00 London pushed past Frankfurt's low instead of holding a higher low, and the 08:05 sweep ran 17.4 pips beyond the level. That trips the continuation guard, so no trade. At 08:15 the old Asia low was retested from below and held as resistance, which is the clearest sign this was a breakout. Price is now at 1.31961, down 20.9 pips.

New York hasn't happened yet. Bailey speaks at 13:15 (a red folder) with Unemployment Claims at 13:30, so the first part of the window sits inside the news no trade zone.

The lesson: a Frankfurt flush only counts if price gets back inside the box and London holds above it. Today it never came back.

How to read this

Each morning we mark the Asia box (00:00 to 06:00 UK) and watch what London and New York do with its high and low. A quick raid that comes straight back inside is a liquidity sweep we can trade back the other way. Price that keeps closing beyond the level is a breakout we leave alone.
